VISION

The INB CAS Learning Resource Center envisions itself as the state-of-the-art information resource center of the college by adopting technology to deliver quality resources and services in pursuit of academic excellence.

MISSION

The INB CAS Learning Resource Center aims to build, manage, and preserve wellbalanced collections with an outcomes-based education approach supporting college curriculum and community interests, providing a high-quality service and a cutting-edge academic learning environment for lifelong learning.

GOALS

โ€ข To provide adequate information resources, services, and facilities responsive to the academic and research needs of the students, faculty, and researchers.

โ€ข To upgrade public access to LRC collections and services, as well as LRC operations efficiency, through the adoption of appropriate automated systems for information retrieval, management, and support services.

โ€ข To develop and maintain an effective staff committed to providing quality service.

โ€ข To establish a conducive atmosphere for learning to inspire the students to develop lifelong habits of good learning, reading, study, and research.

โ€ข Continuously acquire up-to-date and relevant resources in a variety of formats.

โ€ข Adapt and implement Integrated Library System.

โ€ข Engage in continuing formal education and attend professionally relevant seminars and trainings.

โ€ข Enhance the LRCโ€™s physical environment and the implementation of LRC policies.

MONDAY โ€“ FRIDAY

8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM

The LRC is closed during Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.

LRC SECTIONS

  • This is an open shelf section where subject references on humanities, social sciences, history, language, pure sciences, applied sciences, and literatures are found. Users can directly search and browse the books on the shelves.

  • Books and other materials on various subjects or topics written by Filipino authors, or about the Philippines, or published in the Philippines are found in this section.

  • This section has a collection of a variety of stories and novels written by local and foreign authors that are available for recreational reading.

  • This section housed all the local and foreign journals, magazines and newspapers, and vertical files.

  • This section provides computer units for academic use and access to internet browsing intended for research work. Patrons can also access the digital resources in this section.

LRC SERVICES

  • Provides an introduction and basic information about the LRC and its collection, services, and facilities, and is usually conducted every first semester of the academic year for the new students, faculty, and staff.

  • This service consists of personal assistance provided to the patrons. The librarian gives assistance regarding the use and choice of books and other reading materials to encourage the patrons to use time wisely and effectively.

  • This service is an online service for fast access and retrieval of resources available in the LRC. The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is equivalent to a card catalog. It is a computer-based catalog that can be accessed through the use of the Internet. It is composed of different search engines and buttons that redirect users to the collection of the LRC. This will generate information on the LRC collections as well as their availability.

  • LRC Circulation includes checking out materials to the patrons, renewing the borrowed items, reserving checked-out items for the patron, checking in materials returned, checking the materials for damage at the time of return, and receiving payment of fines for damaged and overdue materials.

  • The LRC offers a compilation of digital resources available to users via the internet. These resources encompass a variety of materials, including books, articles, and journals.

  • This service focuses on information dissemination to the students, faculty and to the rest of the academic community to keep them up-to-date with the most recent acquisitions, programs, services, and other LRC developments.

  • Responsible for: the selection, acquisition, cataloging and classification of LRC materials; the mechanical preparation of books such as stamping of ownership stamp; determining if books do not have torn or misplaced pages; pasting of book properties and etc.

  • The LRC conducts a yearly in-house evaluation of the effectiveness of the LRC programs, services and personnel.
